Stan Lee, in an interview conducted by Toei, stated that he enjoyed the way this version of Spider-Man was done, especially with robot called Leopardon and the way that it was filmed. The interview was filmed for the Japanese version's DVD boxset. Lee seems to like the Japanese style of superhero genre.

That's true, I actually think the custome design here is more faithful to the comic than the 1970's live action US show. I liked both live action 70's version by the way.

because both this spiderman (1978) and the original japanese version of power rangers were made by the same movie company called toei.
in case you don't know the original version of power rangers, look at my favorites ( SUNAO )
